Verizon Wireless plans to launch a new member of the Samsung Galaxy Family in the coming weeks called the Galaxy Stratosphere II. The handset is the successor to the Stratosphere, the new Stratosphere II keeps the full QWERTY keyboard and comes with some improvements.
The handset is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, it supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity, NFC (Near Field Communication) which powers the S Beam feature enabling the user to share content by touching handsets and runs the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
The Stratosphere II offers a number of entertainment features. Users can rent or purchase movies from the Samsung Media Hub that they then can watch right on the Stratosphere II?s 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display for high quality video entertainment.
It also comes with built-in Virtual Private Network (VPN) and supports multi-vendor Mobile Device Management (MDM) and on-device AES 256-bit encryption. Verizon Wireless is now selling the smartphone for the price of $129.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate.
