LMFAO Laugh Off Breakup Rumors In New Video
RedFoo and Sky Blu respond to New York Post report that they were at odds over money made from their chart-topping singles.

Looks like the "Party Rockin" will not be ending anytime soon.
LMFAO have fired back at a recent New York Post report that the Grammy-nominated duo were on the verge of a breakup over money made from their chart-topping singles. On Monday, the group released a video on RedFoo's YouTube page rebutting all reports that the bandmates were hanging up their party hats.
The clip starts off with Sky Blu, clad in a spiked bedazzled jacket, telling the audience, "Sky Blu back! I feel good, man." Soon after, he is joined by RedFoo, his uncle, who is holding a copy of Thursday's New York Post.
"You see the stuff they wrote in the New York Post? The crazy stuff, let me read it to you," RedFoo said. Yet, before he could read the report, Sky Blu grabs the paper and the two begin to fight for it. The two go back and forth until they join together dancing and shred the paper while proclaiming, "Every day we're tusslin', " referring to "Party Rock Anthem" and the Post headline, "Duo: Every day I'm tusslin'."
They went on to promote their upcoming 26-date summer tour, RedFoo and Cherrytree Present: Sorry for Party Rocking Tour Featuring LMFAO and the Party Rock Crew and Special Guests, which kicks off May 22 in Columbus Ohio. Those special guests include Far East Movement, the Quest Crew, Sidney Samson, Eva Simons and Natalia Kills. The tour will mark the return of Sky Blu, who had suffered from a severe back injury, which forced him to miss some tour dates.
LMFAO recently performed for the first time on "American Idol," where they energized the crowd with an electrifying performance of "Sorry for Party Rocking."

Lane Garrison Arrested For Domestic Violence
Police arrested former Prison Break star Lane Garrison was arrested without incident after police responded to a domestic violence complaint against him over the weekend. He's currently being held on $50,000 bail.
The alleged victim was Garrison's ex-girlfriend, Ashley Mattingly.
Garrison says he did NOT hurt his ex, however. According to his attorney, Harland Braun, Garrison went to her Beverly Hills apartment building to dog sit for his acting coach, who happens to live in the same building on the third floor.
As he went to leave, he ran into Ashley in the lobby.
Braun says Garrison told him the two began arguing about the failed relationship, and Ashley started screaming and threw Lane's cell phone against the wall.
Braun claims that Lane then put his hands on Ashley's shoulders, put her in a chair, and then left. Lane says he did not harm Ashley Mattingly at any point.
Garrison, who served prison time for killing a high school student in a car accident a few years back, is days away from ending his parole for manslaughter.
Braun says Ashley knew this and it could be her motivation for getting Lane arrested, since he could biw go back to prison in the manslaughter case.
Lane says he wanted to stay in jail Sunday night so he can speak with detectives as soon as they come in Monday a.m. and clear his name. Stay tuned.

Nokia N900 rises from the grave, replaces robot's head
Nokia's buried-but-beloved N900 smartphone has performed many parlor tricks in the past, but its latest role as a carbon-fiber swaddled cyborg cranium just might take the cake. Using the equally forsaken MeeGo OS, a roboticist by the name of Sascha hacked his way into the phone's three-axis controller and other components in order to bring his Bioloid creation to life. The smartphone's video streaming and remote access functions may also give this bipedal mech a leg-up on the last N900 robo we admired -- but we'll need to see some video of it all in action before we make that call. Meanwhile, let's just hope that this unholy union of rejected parts doesn't become self-aware and turn on the company that cast it away.

The bulk of the obits, testimonials and appreciations I?ve seen over the past couple of days regarding iconic TV host/producer Dick Clark, who died Wednesday at 82, have focused on some predictable things. They?ve cited his role as host of ?American Bandstand? from its beginnings as a local Philadelphia show in the ?50s to a network broadcast for nearly three decades. Writers have talked about Clark forging a production empire, winning Emmy awards hosting various editions of ?The Pyramid,? and his creation of alternative TV events like ?The American Music Awards,? ?New Year?s Rockin? Eve,? and ?The Academy of Country Music Awards.?
But what isn?t being as widely touted, except in specific instances, is his impact in helping broaden Black popular music?s popularity and appeal. This can be a thorny subject. While Clark did numerous great things and was a lifelong lover of R&B and jazz, there are some negative things that pop up in this aspect of his career. But his overall positive impact definitely outweighs the trouble spots.
As host of ?American Bandstand,? Clark provided a forum for numerous Black artists to get wider exposure and reach audiences who otherwise would never have known about or heard their music. Chuck Berry, Little Richard, The Supremes, The Isley Brothers, Sam Cooke, James Brown, The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Chubby Checker, Little Anthony & The Imperials and Aretha Franklin is just a short list of Black artists whose national debuts were on Bandstand. Later such names as Prince, Kurtis Blow and Run-D.M.C. joined the list. Clark was interviewing Black acts on TV long before it was the norm, giving them air time when most of White American radio and television was closed to them.
That doesn?t mean he didn?t sometimes play fast and loose in the business arena. Like many music moguls, Clark wasn?t averse to using his name and influence to get disc jockeys to play certain artists? records. He wasn?t ruined or sullied during the payola scandals like Alan Freed, but he had to publicly acknowledge he had sometimes aired records, on both ?Bandstand? and during his radio shows, from artists whose labels he either owned outright or was a stake holder. That practice was subsequently outlawed.
There are also detractors who claim he didn?t integrate Bandstand as soon as he claimed, and that the climate there wasn?t nearly as open and friendly to Black dancers as he insisted. Author and college professor Matthew Delmont?s new book ?the Nicest Kids in Town: American Bandstand, Rock & Roll and the Struggle for Civil Rights? maintains while there was no specific regulation preventing Black dancers from being on ?Bandstand? when it was in Philadelphia, the imposition of a dress code and other things contributed to an environment that kept the program segregated. This is in direct conflict with statements Clark made over the years. The truth of this remains in doubt, though Delmont interviewed a number of people from the area who insist ?Bandstand? made no attempt to integrate during its Philly days.
But no one disputes that Clark was a pioneer in many areas when it came to Black music. He was among the earliest promoters of integrated rock & roll shows. Clark ignored threats from the Klan and presented Sam Cooke live on national television from Atlanta in 1958. When presenting the ?Motown Cavalcade of Stars? traveling shows in the South, Clark insisted on integrated audiences despite hostile reactions that sometimes resulted in near-violent incidents. Unfortunately, he almost negated that glittering legacy when he tried to debut his own version of ?Soul Train,? ?Soul Unlimited,? on ABC in 1973. The show didn?t last long, but it generated lots of ill will within the Black music community that had previously always been a Clark supporter. Fortunately, he was able to mend fences once the show ended.
Like Ed Sullivan, Clark was a pioneer with a strong personality who sometimes clashed with the artists he was presenting. ?American Bandstand?s? insistence on acts ?lip synching? rather than singing their tunes made them off-limits to some performers. The show began to lose steam in the ?80s, and it wasn?t nearly as welcoming to hip-hop and urban music as it had been to R&B and soul. Some of that was due to the resegregation of the airwaves that began in the ?70s and intensified in the ?80s. ?Bandstand? was a Top 40-driven show, and as Black music began disappearing off the playlists of many pop outlets, the number of Black guests fluctuated.
Still, throughout his life Dick Clark remained a huge fan of Black music. Anyone who only touts his ability to make stars of Frankie Avalon and Fabian, or just remembers him hosting ?Bloopers? and ?Pyramid? while omitting that facet of his life, does a major disservice to his life and importance.

Hiilei Aloha LLC was named the top, $10,000 prize winner at Wednesday?s Hogan/American Savings Bank Nonprofit Business Plan Competition.
Hiilei Aloha plans to create a mobile certified kitchen and poi mill to assist farmers in converting taro into poi. The plan would allow farmers to get a higher price for their poi and, because of its preparation in a certified kitchen, would enable broader distribution to food and retail outlets.
There were four other winners in the competition.
HOPE Services Hawaii was awarded $6,000 for its ?Malama Our Kupuna? recycled housing project; Kanu Hawaii won $4,000 for its ?Engage Donors? project; the Waikiki Health center won $2,000 for its ?Next Step? janitorial school job training program, and Full Life Hawaii was awarded $1,000 as well as 80 hours of free consulting services from public relations and marketing firm Olomana Loomis-ISC.
The remaining three finalists, Business Law Corps, BizGym Foundation and the United Cerebral Palsy Association and its partners, were awarded $1,000 in the fifth year of the business plan competition staged at Chaminade University?s Hogan Entrepreneurs program.
More than $30,000 in prizes were awarded to the winners of the competition. The competition is one of the first to be initiated in the state.
Chaminade University?s Hogan Entrepreneurs also celebrated the graduation and induction of its students. This marked the 10th graduation for a unique program that encourages students to use their entrepreneurial passion and academic achievements as means to contribute to their communities.
The program?s motto continues to be ?doing business things that make social sense; doing social things that make business sense.?
Featured speakers included Gov. Neil Abercrombie, Ed Hogan, chair and co-founder of Pleasant Holiday, and Gabe Lee, the EVP of American Savings Bank. The university also confered an honorary professorship upon Gary Hogan, the CEO of Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts.

To create a mobile certified kitchen and poi mill that would go to taro farms to help farmers make their taro into poi. This will help farmers get a higher price for their poi as a value-added product. By doing it in a certified kitchen, farmers are able to distribute and market their legally-approved poi through a much broader range of food and retail outlets. The higher price that poi commands and the broader distribution this plan will make possible will help taro farmers become self-sustaining. It will help improve the prospects for long term sustainability of taro farming as a profession and cultural practice while also increasing local food production and reducing our dangerously high dependence on food imports.

The Business Plan
To provide janitorial on-the-job training for the people living at the Next Step Homeless Shelter between Pier One and Kakaako Waterfront Park. Waikiki Health Center runs the Next Step Homeless Shelter and the Janitorial Job Training School that provides on-site services at the public rest-rooms at Kakaako Park and Kewalo Basin. Many people at the shelter want to work but have barriers to employment including a lack of skill sets, job search resources and the work experience to fill out a resume. The Janitorial Job Training School gives trainees employable skills that they can market and starter income for necessities such as clothing for interviews.
