Samsung Galaxy Ace (Gingerbread) not connecting to mobile network or wireless

Hi Cyanogenmod forum,

First of all, my dearest apologies if I have posted this in the wrong section. I wasn't sure if to post it here, as there is a Samsung section, but not one that covers my phone.

I've only recently purchased my phone and have now been experiencing difficulties. I rooted it about 3-4 days ago and everything was fine, today I tried to sim unlock it, so that I didn't have to use 3, but could instead use any other network. I went to the following website and tried their method:
http://www.freeyoura...ng_ace-g10-mini

This didn't work and only came up with many question marks, what it does seem to have done though is make my wireless fail and my mobile network not connect.
At the beginning it would often set itself to be in flight mode, without having the plane at the top. The tick would however be there under settings and if I tried to remove it nothing would happen, it would just keep loading and if the phone screen goes off, then the tick would be back without any loading happening whatsoever. At some point I read online to clear the cache in safe mode, I did so and now that problem seems to be gone.

My phone does not go into flight mode anymore, but it still doesn't let me access the mobile network settings, as this is blanked out.

I assume this is some sort of fault that has occured because of trying to use that website / app, but I am unsure of this.
When connecting to wireless it connects and says that I am connected, but I can't actually do anything online. Occassionally it will send a few whatsapp messages through and that's about as far as it gets. I can't actually send any, only receive it seems, but even that only when I just turn it on and that has only worked once so far.

I've also tried using other sims and they all come up with the same result.
Another important point to mention is that my phone says there is no sim card when I try to do a software update. It reads " Error Insert SIM card". The sim card is however inserted fully and correctly. I've tried 2 others, but from 3 (my provider) and they don't work either. What shall I do?

To sum up: I can't access my mobile network settings, am disconnected from my provider and the wireless doesn't seem to be working.

I have my files backed up, at least most of them. Should I try to restore to factory settings and see if that helps?

Thanks for any help in advance, I will try to come online as often as I can to check this thread, because I really need some help.

Edit: I have just restored to factory settings and it is still coming up with the same issue. Instantly I noticed the signal strength bars with the cross above it. This seems hopeless... I don't know what else to do..

I have now also tried an O2 sim and that didn't make a difference. I assume this means I've really messed up my phone somehow.

Edit 2: My phone also decides when it wants to be on. The only way I can prevent it from switching itself back on is by taking out the battery. If I then reinsert it, it doesn't turn on by itself it seems.

Edit 3: I've now even unrooted it and the problem still persists. I don't see what else it could be. It must be some hardware fault, right? I will try and take it back to the shop anyways and see what they say. This is as long as no one replies in time. Thanks for any help offered.
